JAMMU, Jan 9: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Kashmir has urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and expedite the appointment of a new Chairman for the Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).
“There is urgent need for a new Chairman to address the slowdown in the agency’s operations, which is adversely affecting recruitment processes and scheduled examinations,” said ABVP State Secretary Akshi Billowria in a statement, issued here today.
She said that following the retirement of the previous Chairman in November last, the JKPSC has experienced a significant slowdown in its activities. Interviews, selection lists, and exams scheduled after November 21st have been put on hold, causing uncertainty and inconvenience for aspiring candidates, she explained and added that this disruption not only affects the Commission’s functionality but also impacts the recruitment process and the aspirations of numerous individuals seeking Government employment opportunities.
Mustafa Ali, ABVP National Secretary, also expressed deep concern over the situation and emphasized the importance of expediting the appointment of a new Chairman and other members to restore the agency’s functionality. He highlighted the need for swift action to ensure the timely conduct of interviews, finalization of selection lists, and resumption of examinations.
Ali further emphasized that the appointment of a competent and experienced Chairman would strengthen the JKPSC’s ability to carry out its crucial responsibilities effectively.
