JAMMU, June 8: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today submitted a memorandum to Union Minister of State for Science and Technology & MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh seeking allocation of examination centres for CUET exams within the Union Territory.
While submitting the memorandum, ABVP State Secretary Akshi Billowria said that they have received feedback from a number of students expressing their difficulties and concerns regarding examination centres located outside the Jammu Kashmir Union Territory. This issue has caused inconvenience and logistical challenges for aspirants, affecting their performance and causing undue stress, she added.
“Many students who have two exams in a day have been allocated one center within the UT and another center outside J&K, due to which they are unable to attend one exam,” she further informed and demanded to re-allocate the examination center for CUET exams within the UT for remaining papers.
ABVP proposed to establish a center within the UT to accommodate the growing number of students and to ensure their ease of access. This approach will alleviate the financial burden, travel constraints and security concerns faced by candidates who are currently compelled to travel long distances for their examinations, it explained in the memorandum.
Akshi Billowria further informed that many students were unable to reach exam centres and had already missed their exams. She also demanded to give one more chance to those students who missed their exam.
After listening to the grievances, Jitendra Singh assured that he will take up this matter with NTA and necessary arrangements will be made.
The ABVP delegation comprised of State Joint Secretary Sanak Shrivats, Chahat Anand, Jammu University President Sunil Singh, Akarshit, Sahil, Chandan Thapa, Shivam and Shail Bharti.
