JAMMU, Oct 16: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad today paid floral tribute to student martyrs of 1966 while Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF) began its three-day fast at the Shaheedi-Sthal (memorial) in front of GGM Science College.
ABVP activists from different educational institutions of Jammu gathered at Shahidi- Sthal and paid their tributes to student martyrs Brij Mohan, Subash Chander, Gulshan Handa and Gurcharan Singh, who had sacrificed their lives while fighting against the discrimination of Kashmir centric leadership with Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, ABVP State organizing secretary Pawan Sharma appealed the student and youth of J&K to work untidily for the welfare of all the student community. He also suggested that October 16, 17 & 18 should be called as “Martyrs days” instead of Black days.
Those present on the occasion, included Raghav Sharma, Kuldeep Singh, Ganesh, Bahadur Singh, Vikas Sharma, Aman Sharma, Sandeep Khajuria, Shubham Kalsi and others.
Activists of JJSF also assembled at Shaheedi-Sthal and paid homage to the student martyrs besides beginning a three-day fast. Those, who began their fast, included Jatinder Chib (president JJSF), Sandeep Singh, Deepak Bhau, Vishal Tangotra and others.
Principal of GGM Science College, Prof Nutan Rasutra and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. They also paid tributes to the student martyrs and prayed for peace, prosperity and well being of Jammu, nation and humanity as a whole.
