ABVP continues protest for admission seekers

JAMMU, Aug 21: Demanding admission to all the eligible candidates, admission seekers and ABVP activists held protest demonstration and staged dharna for the second consecutive day at the Cluster University, here today.
They were raising slogans in support of their demand for admissions to those students also who have passed class 12th in recently declared bi-annual exam results. They alleged that by denying admission, the Cluster University was spoiling the future of hundreds of girls and boys who have passed the required exam.
Students, especially girls from far flung areas, including border areas of Jammu district, participated in the protest dharna, which was addressed by ABVP activist Avinash Sethi, who said that they would fight tooth and nail till every 12th pass student gets admission in graduation 1st semester.
“To get Higher Education is the right of each and every student and it is the responsibility of Higher Education Department and Government to open new colleges or there should be Evening Colleges for low merit students as well as for bi-annual passed students,” said Avinash.
