KISHTWAR, July 4: Atholi Police arrested an absconding rapist after 3 years.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Atholi under the supervision of SDPO Atholi Pardeep Singh conducted raid and apprehended an absconder, who was evading his arrest in a rape case registered in the year 2018.
The accused was identified as Shahnawaz, son of Mangatulla, a resident of Dessa District Doda.
He was a hardcore criminal and was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 6/2018 under Sections 376, 363, 343 and 109 RPC with Police Station Atholi.
SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt has directed the subordinate formation to make all possible efforts for the apprehension of other absconders who are evading their arrest since long.
