JAMMU, May 15: Government Railway Police (GRP) Jammu today claimed they have arrested one person, who was evading his arrest in an NDPS case registered in the year 2019.
Sagar Thappa of Birna Wari, Tehsil and District Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, was wanted in case FIR number 13/2019 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station GRP Jammu, a GRP official said.
The accused, however, was evading his arrest since the registration of the FIR, he said.
Acting on specific information today, he was arrested from Gangyal area by a team of GRP Jammu, the GRP official said.
Ganja worth more than Rs 4 lakh was also recovered from the possession of the arrested individual, he said.
Pertinently, GRP Jammu has arrested 13 absconders in the last 20 months.
