JAMMU, Jan 30: Domana police today arrested an absconder who was evading arrest for last nine years.
“Chaman Lal son of Dhani Chand, resident of Hondana (Kishtwar) was booked in case FIR Number 06 /2006 U/S 279/337/338 RPC but was absconding since the FIR got registered,” a police spokesman said.
He said police started tracking the accused, whereby various teams were constituted and local intelligence was generated along with technical and manual surveillance, and on a tip off, police teams of police station Domana constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Sunil Singh and led by SHO police station Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma did strenuous efforts and arrested the accused.
A warrant under Section 512 CrPC was issued against him by Special Municipal Magistrate 1st class. Finally, accused was produced before Court of Sub-Judge, Jammu.
