UDHAMPUR, Apr 22: Police here today arrested an absconder who was evading arrest since 1996.
Identified as Mohd. Saleem Bhat son of Ahad Bhat of Gund, Banihal, the absconder was booked in July 1996 in case U/S 4/25 Arms Act at Police Station Udhampur and was arrested today.
Arrest warrant Under Section 512 CrPC was issued by the Court of CJM Udhampur against the accused.
Pertinently, SSP Udhampur, Dr. Vinod Kumar has constituted a special team headed by Additional SP, Anwaar Ul Haq to trace the absconders under Frari Ki Girftari and so far 15 absconders have been located.
