JAMMU, Mar 4: Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed on Saturday that they have arrested an absconder who was evading his arrest for the last 12 years.
A police spokesperson said that acting on a reliable information, Shoket Ali of Larnoo, Anantnag, who was evading his arrest for the past 12 years in case FIR number 97/2011 under section 188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act, registered at Police Station Nagrota, was arrested by a team led by SDP Nagrota Sultan Mirza and assisted by SHO concerned Vishav Partap Singh.
It is pertinent to mention that a warrant under section 512 CrPC was issued against Ali by the Court.
“He was accordingly produced before the JMIC Excise Court, Jammu,” the spokesperson said.
