JAMMU, July 25: To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the victory of Indian forces over Pakistani forces in the Kargil War, the Akhil Bhartiya Poorva Sainik Sewa Parishad (ABPSSP) organized a “Kargil Shourya Yatra” here today.
The rally saw an overwhelming participation of over 2500 people, including 250 ex-servicemen in uniform and 200 NCC cadets.
Brigadier Balbir Singh (Retd), President of ABPSSP and Colonel Sukhvir Mankotia, General Secretary, ABPSSP supervised and graced the rally with their esteemed presence.
Their leadership and dedication played a pivotal role in the success of the event.
The event was graced by the presence of the families of martyr Indian soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Kargil War.
Around 600 enthusiastic youth formed the shape of the Indian national flag, Tiranga, with their colorful t-shirts, demonstrating their patriotism and unity.
The rally commenced from JDA parking near Indira Chowk, proceeding through Gummat, Vivekananda Chowk, Raghunath Mandir Chowk, Raghunath Bazaar, City Chowk, Shalimar Chowk and back to JDA Parking.
The “Kargil Shourya Yatra” served as a heartfelt tribute to the valiant soldiers who fought in the Kargil War and a reminder of the enduring spirit of patriotism that unites the nation.
The honored families of Subedar Bahadur Singh, Havaldar Kulbir Singh, Sepahi Janbir Singh, Rifleman Anil Manhas, Grenadier Udaymaan Singh and Naik Dev Raj Sharma also participated in the rally.
Besides numerous ex-servicemen from Tri services Lt Gen RK Sharma, Maj Gen SK Sharma, Maj Gen Sunita Kapoor and Brig SS Saini were also present during the event.
