REASI, Mar 16: Badal Sircar’s Hindi play “Spartacus” was presented by Abhinaya Kala Manch Reasi in ongoing District Drama Festival, organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, at NHPC Auditorium Jyotipuram (Reasi) here today.
The play was directed by Shadab Khan. Romesh Chander, Additional District Development Commissioner Reasi was the chief guest on the occasion.
Spartacus is the story based on Roman Empire and revolves around main character Spartacus. The whole society of Rome was divided into two classes; one of the classes associated with emperors and the other named as Laborer or slaves. Among the slaves, the main character of the story is also one of them named “Spartacus”, who is the only person started opposing the Roman Empire and waged a war against them on behalf of his whole society of slaves. He refuse to do the work of slaves or labour any more for the Emperor and in his war of freedom slowly, so many slaves were also associates with him.
Their war against the empire is based only on one thing that was their rights i.e human rights. Their demand was that the empire should treat them as a human being and provide them their basic human rights like to live, right to speak etc.
But unfortunately in that war of freedom, the Roman Empire killed him very badly and also killed his some of the members. In his last words before death, Spartacus said, “I will come back in millions of people and again I will speak for the freedom and human rights. And my dear friend the war for human rights is still going on now a days also and for me each and every individual who is not ready to bow down in front of wrong things and who fought for their rights is Spartacus.”
The artist who performed the different characters included Shubam Sahwani as Spartacus, Anjali Anand as Valenia, Arun Verma as Karlos (Sanapati) , Neeraj Kesar as Solovious, Shadab Khan as Daraba, Isha Sharma as Halina, Manjeet Singh , Sachdev Singh, Sawan Sangral , Pritam Kumar , Rohit Kumar , Happy , Anil Kumar , Harshdeep Singh , Akash Deep Singh , Bhagam Bali , Reshav Banathia , Harshdeep Sing, Lucky Dogra, Rajat Sharma and others.
