NEW DELHI, Apr 25: Minister for Law & Justice and Rural Development Abdul Haq, today called on Union Minister for Law & Justice D.V. Sadananda Gowda.
Abdul Haq apprised the Union Law Minister that due to substantial reduction in funds under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme meant for development of infrastructure of judicial institutions during the financial year 2015-16, the State is not in a position to restore the infrastructure damaged during 2014 floods.
He requested Union Law Ministry to consider one time grant of Rs.215 crore for these infrastructural projects and undertaking some new projects in the State.
State Law Minister also raised the issue of establishment of National Law School in the State for imparting training and advanced education to students and researchers to improve quality of justice delivery system in the State. It was also requested to provide special grant of Rs.300 crores for creating basic infrastructure for the same.
Union Law Minister was also invited for inauguration of District Court Complex at Mominabad Srinagar in the month of July.
Commissioner Secretary Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad Ashraf Mir accompanied the Minister during the visit.
