AAP’s CYSS opposes new university bill, calls for reversal of decision

JAMMU, Nov 1: Chatr Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lambasted Jammu and Kashmir Government for another dictatorial order against the wishes of people which is new university bill. The Samiti called for reversal of this move from J&K Government.
Activists of CYSS protested against the newly introduced J&K Public Universities Bill 2022 and lambasted at the UT administration for introducing such a disastrous bill.
CYSS leader Mahesh Bakshi said that this bill is going to shake up the entire higher education system as it is attack on the basic functioning of the universities.
Bakshi said that attempt to take away the autonomy of the universities is attack not only on the education system but also on the norms of the UGC and copying of education models of Bihar and Jharkhand is beyond understanding as our education system is far better as compared to these states.
He said the universities of J&K are institutes of highest reputation and playing such a dirty politics to make these institutes a hub for BJP’s politics is condemnable. Bakshi further added that political misuse of educational institutions is going to be proved disastrous for the youth and Government.
CYSS further demanded immediate roll back of such draconian laws as it will make the universities to sink low to the standards of Government schools which are already in pathetic condition and will ultimately force the students to take admissions in private universities.
