JAMMU, Mar 14: With an aim to provide special facilities to its members, Press Club of Jammu in collaboration with Department of Census and District Administration started five-day Aadhar Card registration camp at Club premises here today.
The camp commenced this afternoon at Media Room and will conclude on March 18. The camp is being organised for members, who have either skipped or missed themselves registering for Aadhar card due to certain reasons or unavoidable circumstances.
“With March 31 is coming nearer and Aadhar card will be considered as a mandatory document after that, the Press Club of Jammu took an initiative for its members,” Ashwani Kumar, president PCJ said.
He said that many people avoided visiting the various centres for registration due to heavy rush but the PCJ Management Committee decided to organise the camp for its family members/ wards and  relatives so that they could avail the benefit and timely get themselves enrolled as per the guidelines issued by the Government of India.
“Press Club of Jammu time and again keeps holding different activities for its journalist and non journalist members,” Zorawar Singh Jamwal, secretary general said.
“People mostly, particularly the journalists due to their busy schedule in professional fields, sometimes cannot spare time for getting registered despite the fact it is a must requisite,” Mr Singh said.
He hoped that the 5-day long camp will help and solve the Aadhar card related issues of many members of the Press Club, especially who have missed it during camps in their respective areas.
