JAMMU, Apr 24: Responding to PM, Narendra Modi and BJP national president, JP Nadda’s call, today former Dy CM, Kavinder Gupta distributed ration to more than 100 needy families at Mohalla opposite Ambo Dev Sthan and Sheikh Nagar in Ward 47 and 48.
He was accompanied by BJP vice president, J&K UT, Rajeev Charak, BJP district president, Vinay Gupta, district general secretary, Ankush Gupta, district secretary, Narinder Gupta, (Koki) Gandhi Nagar, Mandal president, Neeraj Lucky Puri, councillor, Sharda Devi, Vivek Patyal and Dalbir Singh
On the occasion, Gupta said every volunteer is working around the clock to reach out to migrant laborers, waste pickers, single mothers, artisans, operators and other un-organized laborers to provide them essentials. To supplement these initiatives on the ground, the BJP has put together a list of its team from UT body to booth level activists working towards this cause.
Gupta said, he is confident that administration in Kashmir shall be successful in tracing the persons infected with the virus who haven’t turned up voluntarily for the necessary tests.
Adding further Gupta said, “We’re all together for getting COVID-19 defeated.” But it’s not doing nearly enough. If we don’t strengthen the safety net, both the economy and our health will suffer needlessly. If any good can come from this terrible pandemic, it could be the recognition that public health is a public good and people henceforth will remember lesson in hygiene now. All of us need each other to be as healthy as possible. “But we know from pandemic planning and previous experiences that the sooner we implement safety measures strictly, the more better will be the results,” Gupta said.
That strategy of “social distancing measures” like closing schools/colleges, business establishments, worship places and recommending tele-work to prevent infected people from spreading the disease to their classmates and colleagues, has proved to be result oriented. But for the people engaged in the Pharma Industry, healthcare, civil administration, police, civic amenities and essential services need proper and regular sanitization and to boost their morale they should be given monetary benefits.
Gupta added that “Corona warriors are rendering their services at par with the armed forces who are guarding our borders for our safety and security”.
