BJP hands over Golden Card to critically ill child

JAMMU, Mar 17: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) leaders handed over Ayushman Bharat Golden Card to critically ill child admitted in Ward No. 19 SMGS Hospital, Shalamar Road, here for free medical health cover under the scheme AB PM-JAY.
Golden Card was provided by BJP general secretary (Org., Ashok Kaul who was also accompanied by BJP district president, Jammu Vinay Gupta, Munish Sharma, Puneet Mahajan, Ayodhya Gupta and others.
Ashok Koul, while speaking on the occasion said Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) is a flagship scheme of the Indian Government’s National Health Policy which aims to provide free health coverage at the secondary and tertiary level, to its bottom covering 40% poor and vulnerable population.
He said PM-JAY is the world’s largest health assurance scheme which covers a population of the combined size of USA, Mexico and Canada.
The objective of this scheme is to provide cashless and free health benefits to the entitled beneficiaries, he added.
He said according to the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 6.30 lakh poor and vulnerable families of Jammu and Kashmir are entitled to it. He also lauded the efforts of Puneet Mahajan for preparing Child Golden Card within 24 hours.
Kaul, said that the people should opt for every welfare scheme. He requested the BJP workers to assist the agency to reach out to masses. This will ensure that the benefit of the schemes will reach the most deserving person and the intended beneficiary, he added.
Kaul also called for active participation of the BJP workers to make the public aware about the other Centrally sponsored welfare schemes.
Puneet Mahajan, on the occasion, said that he has been continuously involved in the procurement and distribution of Golden cards since the start of the scheme and stressed that this is one of the scheme that has given direct benefit to the poor and needy population. He also said that Jammu and Kashmir has become the first to distribute the highest number of golden cards under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
