RAJOURI, July 4: The police seized a vehicle and rescued 10 bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers at Salani bridge in Rajouri town this morning.
Official sources said that a police party during checking at Salani bridge intercepted Tata mobile vehicle No. JK-11B/4525 during morning hours and signaled driver to stop. The driver and his associate stopped the vehicle at some distance and escaped from the spot. They also pelted stones on police party while escaping.
The police seized abandoned vehicle and rescued 10 bovine animals. A case FIR No. 405/2019 was registered in this connection at Rajouri Police Station. The smugglers were still at large.
