Around two dozen pilgrims injured as mini-bus turns turtle

JAMMU, June 17: Around two dozen pilgrims were injured when the mini-bus they were traveling in turned turtle on road near Khamb area of RS Pura today.
As per police sources, a mini-bus was on its way to Shatakeychak Nandpur Sector Ramgarh from Shamachack when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it turned turtle near Khamb area of Tehsil RS Pura, resulting into injuries to 22 passengers.
All the passengers were heading towards their respective home after paying obeisance at their deity place in Shamachack.
On getting information, a team from RS Pura Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajeshwar Singh rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
All the injured passengers were shifted to RS Pura Hospital from where 17 injured pilgrims were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment.
The injured pilgrims have been identified as Priyanka Choudhary, daughter of Surinder Kumar of Pathankote, Kanta Devi, wife of Pritam Chand of Shatakeychak, Sansaro Devi, wife of Amarnath of Shatakeychak, Aditya Choudhary, son of Karan Singh of Swankha Morh, Samo Devi, wife of Amar Nath of Shatakeychak, Poli Devi, wife of Shalo Ram of Shatakeychak, Bachno Devi, wife of Balkari Ram of Shatakeychak, Janko Devi, wife of Late Babu Ram of Shatakeychak, Geeto Devi, wife of Puran Chand of Shatakeychak, Parsino Devi, wife of Rattan Lal of Shatakeychak, Rani Devi, wife of Madan Lal of Shatakeychak, Chanchala Devi, wife of Ashok Kumar of Shatakeychak, Kunti Devi of Shatakeychak, Shrishta Devi, wife of Kewal Singh of Shatakeychak, Krishna Devi, wife of Kaka Ram of Shatakeychak, Santosh Devi, wife of Subash Chander of Shatakeychak, Sandhya Devi, wife of Ramesh Chander of Shatakeychak, Pushpa Devi, wife of Amar Choudhary of Shatakeychak, Darshana Devi, wife of Sat Pal of Shatakeychak, Lelo Devi, wife of Sat Pal of Shatakeychak, Geeta Devi, wife of Krishan Lal of Shatakeychak and Pushpa Devi, wife of Hans Raj of Shatakeychak.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at RS Pura Police Station and investigation started.
