JAMMU, June 8: Former Deputy Chief Minister & senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta said that a comprehensive development plan is underway in Gandhi Nagar Constituency to meet the basic development needs of inhabitants of constituency with special thrust being laid on construction of lanes, drains, Pacca bridal paths, best drainage facilities and toilet complexes to strengthening the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Gupta said this while interacting with the inhabitants of Jeevan Nagar and the BJP workers after kick starting macadamization of Jeevan Nagar-Darap-Maralian road which is being executed by PWD at an estimated cost of 2.5 crore. Gupta was accompanied by MLC Vikram Randhawa, Vinay Gupta, Harbans Choudhary, Paramjeet Singh Raina, Ashu Gupta, Rinku Gupta besides local residents and many social as well as political activists of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that Modi Government has started a new phase of development in the State especially in under developed areas. He said that number of road macadamization and up-gradation works have been taken up with special thrust on the use of quality material. He said that we are making concerted efforts to improve infrastructural edifice in all development sectors which is being witnessed on ground.
Blacktopping of the road was a long pending demand of the local residents, which was the very important requirement for numerous vehicles and the commuters that pass daily through this road as it always filled with water during the rainy season, Gupta said. While giving details of the present work, he said that the work will be executed under the supervision of PWD at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore. He also claimed that no ward of Gandhi Nagar is left behind in terms of development and it can be seen from the works being done in various areas of the Constituency.
Gupta said that BJP has delivered on the ground by always remaining on the fore front. He said that Jammu has witnessed unprecedented growth and that becomes more important when Jammu lagged behind on every front for multiple decades together owing to the wrong policies by previous Government, he added.
Gupta also took the opportunity to appeal to the masses for contributing in the noble cause by promoting the vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi of building a “Clean and Green nation”.
On the occasion, people of the area apprised the former Deputy Chief Minister about their problems and developmental issues. They also brought to the notice of Gupta about the illegal encroachment at the site of Jeevan Nagar Park.
