JAMMU, Nov 15: Choudhary Lal Singh, president, Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan (DSS) and Ex-Minister, today said that the root cause of discrimination with Jammu is the very manipulative division of the State by former Chief Minister Sheikh Abdulla in connivance with some powers in Delhi.
He said the same appeasement policy which has always neglected Jammu, can easily be gauged from the fact that how the people of Mirpur, Muzafarabad, Chamb, Kotli and most Dogra speaking people were not allowed to settle in the valley, simply to cause demographic imbalance and to keep maximum political powers with the Valley.
“Assembly seats reserved in the State Assembly for PoK, is again a deep conspiracy to keep Jammu devoid of its legitimate powers”, he claimed while addressing a large gathering in Gandhi Nagar. The DSS president demanded that the seats meant for refugees must be open in proportion to its population settled in Jammu province.
While refereeing to the incident of Kishtwar, Lal Singh demanded that all the next kin of the two families be given employment. He also demanded compensation of Rs 50 lakh to both the families.
He also appealed the Governor SP Malik to address the sentimental issue of the Dogras by ordering a CBI enquiry in Rassana rape and murder case. Lal Singh said that the manner in which their demand for CBI inquiry is being declined does raise questions on the claims of the State Government delivering justice and being fair with Jammu region.
Meanwhile, Vikas Dutt- a prominent social activist joined the Dogra Swabhiman Sanghtan. After joining the Sanghtan, Vikas Dutt said he was disillusioned with the all the leaders of the Jammu as all of them failed to fulfill their promises and betrayed the Dogras.
