Induct Sikh member into Cabinet: Wazir

JAMMU, Apr 24:   Chairman Sikh United Front (J&K) and former president of  J&K State Gurdwara Prabandhak Board,  Sudershan Singh Wazir today urged upon the BJP leadership to induct a Sikh member into State Cabinet.
While addressing a large gathering of various Sikh organizations here today, Wazir said that Sikhs are a symbol of nationalism in the J&K State but for the last so many years, they have been deprived of their right of political representation in the State Government.
The meeting of various Sikh bodies of  J&K was held today in Jammu under the banner of Sikh United Front, in which various speakers representing their respective organizations vehemently stressed upon the need for a representation to a Sikh in State Cabinet during the forthcoming reshuffle of  BJP Ministers. Wazir called upon BJP to provide representation to a Sikh in the Cabinet in order to give a sense of belongingness  to the Sikh community who feel left out in the political arena of the state, since a pretty long time.
A resolution was also moved on this occasion by S Darbinder Singh, Member DGPC Jammu which was seconded by S. Gajjan Singh, president J&K Motor Transport Companies Association Jammu and S. Raja Singh, Member DGPC Jammu ,among others, calling upon the Central BJP leadership to nominate a Sikh in the Government as a Minister.
This resolution was adopted unanimously with a request to SS Wazir to issue a statement in this regards. Prominent among those present on the occasion included   Surinder Singh Kala, chairman J&K Motor Transportation Companies Association,  Mohinder Singh- chief organizer, Bhai Kanahya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K,   S. Surjeet Singh Kuku, president Sikh Naujawan Sabha, S. Harpreet Singh, president AISSF,  Paramjeet Singh, S. Kultaar Singh, S. Kulwant Singh , S. Satwant Singh,  S. Sukhdev Singh, S. Kuldip Singh Malik, S. Paramjeet Singh, Ex-Corporator, S. Manmohan Singh, S.Tejpal Singh, Aya Singh, Charanveer Singh  and Balbir Singh.
