KATHUA, Feb 7: J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB), Regional Office Kathua in collaboration with NABARD and with the assistance of branches of district Kathua organized various D-FLAP i.e financial literacy and awareness programme on the theme of public participation in promoting cashless economy.
More than 100 persons including Panchs, Sarpanchs, Numberdars, men, women and youth participated in each camp. The main focus of the camps was to aware people about developments in banking sector and latest schemes.
The participants were informed regarding various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks, various safeguards to be kept in mind in order to be aware and prevent cases of cheating/ corruption while availing different banking facilities with special reference to use of ATM cards, mobile banking, etc.
Ramdev Sharma, Regional Manager, Kathua enlightened people about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of bank cheques, use of POS machine, RuPay debit card, KCC RuPay debit card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Adhaar based transactions, etc. He also made them aware about the merits and demerits of using such services and precautions to be taken care of while utilizing such facilities.
Apart from this he made people aware about various lending schemes tailored by Grameen bank for general public available on easy EMIs i.e housing loan, transport loan, car loan, education loan, etc where rate of interest charged by the bank is very competitive. He sought support from prominent persons of the area for helping the bank in reducing NPAs which has clinched the focus of the higher authorities of the bank.
Recovery Office, Kasturi Lal Sharma made the audience to understand the role of bank in upliftment of rural economy and how recycling of bank funds in NPAs is helpful for the institution for enhancement of credit dispensation.
