2 theft cases worked out, 5 arrested with stolen items

JAMMU, Feb 1: Police worked out two theft cases with the arrest of five persons and recovery of stolen items.
As per police sources, on January 31 this year, a complaint was filed by Raj Dev Singh of Tikri, district Udhampur with Police Station Ramban stating that some unknown persons have stolen the parts of his tipper which was parked at Mehar.
Meanwhile, on the same day, a complaint was also lodged by Balbir Singh of Failthy with Police Station Ramban stating that some unidentified persons have stolen his construction items worth lakhs of rupees.
Acting over the complaint, cases under FIR Numbers 19/18 and 21/18 under relevant sections were registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up and out of them five broke down and confessed that they had committed the thefts.
Police arrested the accused, who have been identified as Farooq Ahmed, son of Mangta Shiekh, Sajad Ahmed, son of Shaban Shiekh, both residents of Mehar Ramban, Ghulam Hassan, son of Ahmed Shiekh, Shabir alias Billa and Farooq Ahmed alias Latta, son of Ghulam Nabi, all resident of Maitra Ramban.
On their disclosure, police recovered the stolen items.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Rajeshwar Slathia made the arrest under the supervision of DySP headquarters Ramban Imtiaz Ahmed, Additional SP Ramban Mushtaq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
