JAMMU, Dec 20: A deputation of JK Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) led by Federation president, Dharminder Singh Bhargav, met Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat and submitted a memorandum of demands.
During the meeting, various demands of the employees stated in the memorandum, like early conducting of DPC meeting and then preparation of seniority list and circulation of the same for filling of the objections within 30 days of the conduct of DPC meeting, upgradation of pay scale of FMPHWs to make equivalent to that of BHWs with multipurpose training, were taken up with the Minister.
The deputation also highlighted other demands like making transfer policy of non-gazetted employees transparent, increasing FTA of BHWs from Rs 45 per month to Rs 500 per month, provision of risk allowance to all categories of employees exposed to infections, harmful chemicals, insecticides on the pattern of X-Ray technicians, provision of uniform to Class IV employees and creation of post of Lady Health Visitors at PHC level.
Besides, demands like implementation of MPW scheme in Jammu province, minimum wages of Rs 225 per day to part time sweepers, implementation of IMC recommendations to improve health delivery system and extension of Government Order No 1061-GAD of 2014 dated 16-10-2014 to adhoc/contractual/consolidated employees on the analogy of migrant substitutes, also figured in the meeting.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the Minister and assured the deputation members that their demands will be considered positively and every effort for their early fulfillment will be done.
