UDHAMPUR, Dec 19: District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar today formally inaugurated 6-day Early Childhood Care & Education Programme organized by Department of ICDS Project.
While speaking on the occasion, DDC emphasized upon the need of ECCE in the development of children’s mental and physical growth. He also laid stress upon the department to sensitize Anganwari workers as they are frontline workers and bridge gap between community and the Government endeavours. He updated AWWs regarding malnutrition in district. He also impressed upon AWWs to raise awareness on gender equality among the masses.
On the occasion, PO ICDS Rimpy Ohri informed that during the training programme, first batch of 40 AWWs from Udhampur, Chenani and Ghordi blocks of Udhampur district are participating in the programme. She added that for the duration of six days training programme several activities related to early childhood care and education for the development of the child are being imparted to the trainees in the ECCE curriculum.
Among others, Chief Medical Officers, Dr. K.C Dogra, Chief Education Officer, J.R Bhardwaj, CDPO, Yashpal Sharma, state level master trainees, supervisors, besides large number of Anganwadi workers were present on the occasion.
