JAMMU, Dec 18: Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, organized the Annual Sports Meet at Dogra Ground, Shastri Nagar, here.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar Constituency was the chief guest on the occasion, while Th Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust & President, Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K presided over the function.
Sandeep Choudhary, SP South, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust and Uma Katal, Manager, Rich Harvest Schools, Jammu, were the special guests on the occasion.
Earlier, the Principal Davinder Kour presented welcome address.
The Sports Meet began by releasing balloons in the air by the chief guest and other dignitaries on the occasion.
Various games began after the March Past. A cultural programme was also presented by the students on the occasion and annual report was presented by Smt. Davinder Kour, Principal DHSS.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that frequent sports and other co-curricular activities were always helpful for developing the balanced personality of children.
Mr Charak in his presidential remarks threw light on the achievements of the school since its inception.
The students who bagged medals in various sporting and recreational events like toy race, ball race, banana race etc were felicitated by the dignitaries on the occasion.
In the end, Managing Director of DHSS, Kr. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak presented vote of thanks.
