JAMMU, Sept 2: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today urged upon the Chief Minister to adopt the same pattern to release salary/pension of employees and pensioners of State Government before upcoming Dussehra festival, as is done in case of EID.
Addressing a meeting of workers, NMC president, Subhash Shastri, said that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, had directed the release of salary before Eid-ul-Azha festival, which was an employee-friendly gesture. He said that similar practice should be followed in case of upcoming Dussehra festival and in future as well so that employees can celebrate their religious festivals with fervour and gaiety.
He expressed need of early expediting the recommendations by the committee headed by Principal Secretary, Home, to suggest recommendations in the light of 7th Pay Commission in J&K so that the benefits of this Commission as announced by the State Finance Minister on the floor of the House on January 11, 2017, while presenting 2017-18 Budget, are extended on April 1, 2018.
Shastri, while pleading the cause of 61000 daily rated workers working in various departments of the State Government, said that in order to settle the issue of regularization, the State Government had initiated some steps but the process has been closed down and all the departments are not keenly expediting the procedure, ensuing a content of dissatisfaction.
He appealed the Chief Secretary to direct the concerned officers to speedily act in this matter to cover all the incumbents, who are the pillars of the essential service delivery in the State.
