REASI, Sept 2: Police today arrested two bootleggers and seized 78 pouches of illicit liquor from their possession.
During checking at Thappa Chowk Reasi police party spotted two persons coming from bus stand Reasi towards Gran Morh and carrying one bag each. On seeing police party, the duo started running backwards. However, Police chased them and apprehended the duo, identified as Sher Singh and Chainu, both resident of Charalakote, tehsil Bhomag, district Reasi. During search of their bags, Police recovered 78 poly pouches of JK Excise Desi Whisky, each weighing 250/250 ml.
Police seized the recovered liquor pouches and also arrested the accused persons besides registering a case in this connection under Section 48 (a) Excise Act at P/S Reasi.
