2150 kg Lahan, 35 bottles of illicit liquor destroyed in Excise raids

KATHUA, July 15: Excise Department today conducted raids at various places and in the process destroyed a working still, 2150 kg of Lahan and 35 bottles of illicit liquor.
The raids were conducted in Ghatti, Chakdrabkhan and Barnoti areas by the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range, Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and ETO, Eradication and Enforcement Wing, Jammu, Rohit Sharma, along with Excise Inspectors, Arun Kumar and Shadi Lal and Sub Inspector Prashant Mathur.
In the process, more than one working still, 2150 Kg Lahan and 35 bottles of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health were recovered by the raiding team and destroyed on spot.
The raids were conducted on the directions of the Excise Commissioner, Mohd Javed Khan under the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Syed Muried Hussain Shah.
