Kavinder takes stock of development activities in Gandhi Nagar constituency

JAMMU, May 24: Speaker, Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta, today undertook a day-long tour of his constituency and took stock of the development activities.
The speaker was accompanied by SDM South, Sonu Pargal, Xen JMC, SK Wali, Xen PWD (R&B), Rajan Mengi, AEE PWD (R&B), Rafiq Sheikh, AEE JMC, Rajiv Pandoh, CTO JMC, Talat Mehmood, TO JMC, Balbir Singh along with Junior Engineers and other field staff of the departments.
Kavinder visited Belicharana, Chatha, Raipur Satwari, Barjala, Sanjay Nagar and held various public darbars and listened to the grievances of the people.
Giving a patient hearing to the people, the Speaker directed the concerned officers to take up their issues on priority and an action taken report to be submitted in his office within a week’s time.
The Speaker took on spot assessment of the initiatives taken by the Revenue and Rural Development Department (RDD) for issuance of income certificates, State Subjects, Job cards under MGNREGA, CD Panchayat Works, 14th FC works and other schemes.
He asked the officers to work in an aggressive manner and put in their sincere efforts to ensure comprehensive and inclusive development of the State by working honestly towards implementation of developmental schemes.
The Speaker said that the present dispensation of BJP-PDP doesn’t believe in show off business like the previous Congress led allies. “We are committed towards our work and are working day and night for providing the basic amenities at the door steps of the people”, he added.
While addressing the locals, he said the Government is committed to provide corruption free and transparent governance by bringing economic stability by way of creating new and augmenting the already existing infrastructure.
He informed that the works for construction and repairing of lanes and drains, blacktopping have been expedited after the sanctioning of Rs 10 lakh each for every ward in the first phase and Rs 30 lakh will be sanctioned in the second phase to take the works of emergency nature.
