Two die due to suspected poisoning

JAMMU, May 23: In separate cases, two persons including a Vaishno Devi pilgrim died due to suspected poisoning in Trikuta Nagar and RS Pura area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a Vaishno Devi pilgrim identified as Ragini (40) wife of Rajeev Raizada, resident of Badaun (UP), who along with her family had stayed in Dewan Hotel near Railway Station Jammu, was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu during the intervening night of May 22 and 23 when she started vomiting suddenly.
However, the woman was declared as brought dead by the doctors. Today, after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, a girl identified as Shivani Choudhary daughter of Kewal Krishan, resident of Badhal (RS Pura) also died due to suspected poisoning case. In unconscious condition, she was rushed from her house to SMGS Hospital by her father but later referred to GMC Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead. After conducting post mortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
In both cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
