MENDHAR, May 23: A 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 21-year-old youth in the fields in Kas Baladi area of Mendhar sub division last evening.
Reports said that incident took place when the girl, a student of class 5th , was returning home on foot from the home of her relative (Mamu) from a nearby hamlet. One Mohd Rafi, son of Mohd Ismail, hailing from the same village was grazing cattle in the area. As he was known to the girl of his locality, he lured her and took her to nearby bushes and committed rape on her and then escaped.
The shell shocked girl, then started moving towards her home but she fainted and fell down on the ground after covering some distance. She was bleeding. The family started looking for the girl and then found her lying on the ground and rushed to Sub District Hospital, Mendhar. She was then referred to District Hospital, Poonch.
The parents of the girl lodged an FIR against the accused. The SDPO Riaz Tantray said that police teams have been rushed to different locations to arrest the accused.
