UDHAMPUR, Oct 20: Police today seized 17 kilograms and 690 grams of charas from an abandoned bag near Supply Morh under the jurisdiction of Rehmbal Police Station.
Giving details, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, SSP Udhampur said, today in the wee hours, patrolling/LRP party of Police and Army, during patrolling on National Highway from Udhampur to Rehmbal, noticed a bag lying abandoned.
He said that the patrolling party from Rehmbal Police Station led by SHO, Inspector Mohd Sadiq alias Bhola, opened the bag and seized 17 kilograms and 690 grams charas.
A case under FIR number 169/12 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act stands registered at Police Station Rehmbal and investigation started, SSP informed.
“The bag may have been accidentally fallen from the vehicle while transporting it from Valley to Jammu”, he said.
