JAMMU, Dec 26: Prof D S Manhas has been elected as new president of College Teachers Association, Jammu Wing.
In a multi-cornered contest, he defeated his nearest rival Dr Avinash K Gupta with a slight margin of six votes.
Out of total 775 polled votes, Prof D S Manhas secured 305 votes while Dr Avinash got 229 votes. Prof Amit Sharma got 95 votes and Prof Parshotam S Manhas was polled 69 votes. Seven votes were declared invalid.
The election was held on December 21 while the counting of votes was held today. The election commissioners, Dr Naveen Anand and Prof Sunil Uppal announced the election results.
