JAMMU, Nov 22: Former MLC and senior Congress leader Ravinder Sharma conducted tour of Nowshera area to meet the border migrants and victims of Pak firing and listened to their problems.
Sharma targeted Pakistan for resorting to heavy firing on civilian population causing loss to lives and properties. He met the firing victim, Shanti Devi undergoing treatment at SD Hospital Nowshera and enquired her condition and asked the doctors to provide her best medicare.
Later, the Ex-MLC visited the migrant camp and listened to their problems, which included shortage of ration and adequate bedding etc in the winter conditions as they have no source of earning in camps also.
The migrants demanded that the Govt should provide free ration @35 kg per family in the camps besides cash assistance to each family as was being given to them after migration during Kargil conflict. They also demanded colony for in safe zone for the border residents.
Sharma took up their day today problems with the local administration and assured them that their demands would be taken up at higher level regarding other facilities of ration, K oil, cash assistance on the pattern of migrants during Kargil conflict.
