JAMMU, June 28: Sanskrit Teachers Association, Jammu and Kashmir, today submitted a memorandum to Director School Education Jammu highlighting the grievances of Sanskrit teachers and scholars, whose degrees were not being given due recognition by the School Education Department.
In the memorandum, submitted by the Association president Dr Vinod Kumar Shastri,  attention was drawn towards alleged step motherly treatment of the State  Government for  Sanskrit language and its consequent negative effects on prospects of Sanskrit learning students.
The Association explained  that  despite Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan being a Deemed University, the Directorate of School Education was categorizing the certificates/ Diplomas of the Sansthan  as of a Study Centre thus putting a question mark on career of hundreds of Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers.
“Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, which undertakes recognized  courses, is a Deemed University vice Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher and Secondary Education notification number 9-28/2000-U.3 dated May 7, 2002 and University Grants Commission notification No F.6-31/2001 (CP-1) dated 13-06-2002, F.9-28/2000 – U.3 dated 01-01-2009, F9 – 28/2000-U3 dated 30-6-2009.”
Through the memorandum, the Association appealed the Director to ensure justice with the Sanskrit scholars and teachers during the process of regularization of ReTs and selection as well as DPC of  teachers.
