JAMMU, June 18: Natrang is presenting its internationally acclaimed Dogri Play ‘Bawa Jitto’ in Mela Aghar Jitto on the evening of June 21 at its main stage in the presence of a strong gathering.
This was disclosed to media persons by Padamshree Balwant Thakur at Natrang Studio Theatre today. Giving details he said celebrity film and TV actors will perform lead roles of the play this time. The main role of Bawa Jitto will be played by Arvind Anand who has over 200 films and TV serials at his credit. Other attractions will be the outstanding performance of Renu Sharma as Jojan, Anil Tickoo and Subash Jamwal as Malli and Raja and Sanchita Dubey as Bua Gouri.
The logistic support to this presentation is being given by District Administration and J&K Tourism Department whereas Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has been requested to support the production of this play as per past practice. District Development Commissioner Reasi, Ravinder Kumar, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
Balwant Thakur expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders for giving Natrang an opportunity to demonstrate before public the glimpses of their own history, priceless heritage and culture. He informed that Bawa Jitto has been one of the great devotee of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi who used to offer prayers at the shrine every morning climbing the hill all the way from village Aghar.
Written by Prof Ram Nath Shastri, the play Bawa Jitto is set in the backdrop and the story of Bawa Jitto portrays the age-old saga of exploitation of landless farmers by landlords.
