JAMMU, Mar 29: Police arrested a man along with illicit liquor pouches from Karol area, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramban police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, the sleuths from Ramban police station and District Special Branch (DSB) intercepted a person carrying carton near Karol area.
During checking, the sleuths recovered 40 pouches of illicit liquor and nabbed the person on the spot.
The bootlegger has been identified as Arif Hussain, son of Abdul Hameed Bhat of Yaripora, District Anantnag, Kashmir.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for sale among the people to gain illegitimate profit.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at police station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Pardeep Sharma and assisted by DSB sleuths Bharat Singh and Mohammad Hanief, Constables made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
