Tributes paid to martyrs of Qila Darhal

NOWSHERA, Oct 28: Chief spokesperson of Pradesh Congress Committee, Ravinder Sharma (MLC) paid rich tributes to the martyrs at Qila Darhal in Nowshera in an impressive function at Shaheedgarh today.
A large number of people including senior officers of Army and civil administration attended the function to pay tributes to the civilian and Army personal martyred in defending their country.
Ravinder Sharma paid floral tributes to the martyrs and saluted the courage and bravery of the people of the area who not only defended their country in 1947 but continued to send their young boys in large numbers in the Army and other security forces for the service of their nation and defending their motherland.
He recalled how the local residents did not leave the area and decided to fight back the raiders and took shelter in the Fort at Qila Darhal. They fight back sacrificing their lives but stopped the advancement of the enemy, as a result the area was not captured by Pakistan and finally the Indian Army repulsed the attempts.
The MLC had got a ‘Hall of Fame’ constructed at Shaheedgarh out of his funds, in the memory of martyrs. A Government school was also set up at Shaheedgarh besides opening of a tehsil and a block headquarters.
