Cong pays tributes to Brig Rajinder Singh

SAMBA, Oct 27 :   Former Minister and PCC general secretary  Manjit Singh along with many Congress activists and locals of the area paid rich tributes to Brig  Rajinder Singh, savior of Kashmir who achieved  martyrdom while defending the motherland against the attack  by  the raiders assisted by Pakistan regular Army in 1947.
Floral tributes were paid  to Brig  Rajinder Singh, in a function held at his native village Rajinder Singh Pura, today morning by the prominent citizens and  Congress leaders. They paid rich tributes and remembered  his supreme sacrifice as a result the Pakistan could not succeed in its nefarious designs to capture Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion   Manjit Singh said that it was the bravery of  Brig Rajinder Singh who  with a limited  number of  men at his command prevented the march of raiders, as a  result the Kashmir  was saved  and  the Pakistani designs were defeated.  He created a history of exemplary courage and devotion to duty unto death, which shall be remembered for all time to come.
He cautioned the people  against the continued attempts by Pakistan to create trouble and condemned the unabated  and unprovoked firing  all along the borders and  sponsor  terrorist activities in the State. He expressed serious concern  over the  situation  on the border resulting into causalities of civilians and  forcing them to migrate from their homes and causing great hardships to them.
Mr Singh demanded that Govt of India should take effective steps in this direction  to stop the  increased  ceasefire violations  during the past over one year, besides fulfilling the promises of providing  safe shelters and enhancement of compensation, as well as providing reservation in job to the residents near  the  border on the pattern of  residents of LoC.
