JAMMU, Sept 30: Police arrested two snatchers along with stolen bike and mobile phones from Digiana.
As per police sources, police team from Digiana police post during routine checking signaled a Passion Pro black colour motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AX-1783 to stop for checking.
On seeing police team, the rider accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle.
During scrutinizing of documents, it came to fore that the motorcycle was stolen by them and the persons had installed a fake number plate on the bike.
Both the accused were arrested, who have been identified as Ajay Kumar, son of Joginder Kumar of Hansa Chack, Bishnah and Shammy Kumar, son of Ram Bitta of Rehal, Bishnah.
Meanwhile, a person namely Dharmesh Gupta, son of Inder Raj Gupta of Main Bazar Nai Basti, who runs a mobile shop on the name and style M/s Mobile Canteen at Nai Basti also reached the naka point and informed the police that the accused had snatched 2 mobiles from his shop and fled away. Police also recovered stolen mobiles from the possession of the accused.
A case under FIR Number 252/15 under Section 382 RPC was registered against the accused at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Digiana SI Pawan Dogra made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, SDPO South Sachin Gupta, SP South Udhay Bhaskar Billa and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
