JAMMU, Sept 17: Hotel Asia is organizing a 10 days “Middle Eastern Food Festival” from September 18 to 27 at their multi Cuisine “Pavilion–Restaurant”.
As per Naresh Dabral, Executive Chef of Hotel Asia, the cuisine of the Middle East region is diverse and is having a degree of homogeneity in eating habits and culture. Some commonly used ingredients include olives and olive oil, pitas, honey, sesame seeds, dates, sumac, chickpeas, various herbs and spices while prominent among the meat preparations are grilled meats, or kebabs.
He added that there are a wide variety of these grills, with many regional specialties and styles. Here you will find the most popular and widely recognized Middle Eastern dishes like kibbeh, Falafel, Arabian Manakish an open faced pizza to Shawama wraps with humus, Baba Ganoush, Lebana and spicy Harissa dips, he said.
“We are also including several Middle Eastern Kebab like Mahi Mahi Kebab, Koobideh Kebab, Joojhe Kebab, Shish Kebab, Shishtook Kebab, Kifte Kebab, Kebab Sultani and many more. We introduce various juicy hot sizzlers and its combo too, our chef’s are also ready with the most popular desserts like Baklava, Umm Ali, Basbousa etc”, he disclosed.
