JAMMU, Mar 2: A meeting of social organizations of SC communities was held today in the premises of Mahasha Sadar Sabha, Dogra Hall, Jammu under the chairmanship of Kesar Singh to reconstitute All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch (JKDCM).
The heads and representatives of State level SC organizations and Sabhas participated in the meeting. Threadbare discussions were held in the meeting and it was felt that discriminations with SC communities are increasing, Atrocity Act of 1989 has not been extended to J&K and reservation rules are not implemented in letter and spirit.
The meeting felt a strong need to accelerate the mission of Bharat Ratan Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar in the State and to reconstitute JKDCM, an amalgam of SC organizations into adhoc body.
The meeting unanimously elected Sham Lal Basson as president of JKDCM, Narinder Dutt Bhagat as general secretary, Dev Anand Gill, BD Naryal, Faquir Chand Azad, Banarsi Lal, Sham Lal, Dr Kuldeep Raj Moten, Swarna Devi, Krishna Bangotra, Sharbati Rao, Sharda Devi, Vaishno Devi, Neelam Mati and Sunita Lakhotra as vice-presidents.
Parshotam Thappa was elected as organizing secretary, Bharat Hans as cashier and Ashok Kumar Lakhotra, Vivek Kumar, Sanjay Radha, LR Kainth, Deepak Kumar, Ajeet Kumar Bhagat, Ankush Rao and Rani Devi as secretaries.
The advisory committee includes ND Rajwal as chairman and Kesar Singh, Bodh Raj Rao, Sushil Kumar, Bihari Lal Bhagat, Ajeet Gill and Sat Pal as members.
