JAMMU, Jan 21: A delegation of BJP Kashmir Displaced Unit led by senior Party leader Moti Kaul and president of the Unit T N Bhat met Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita and apprised him of the burning problems of the displaced people from Valley.
The delegation demanded increase in cash assistance at an earliest as already announced by the Union Home Minister, conducting of interviews of teachers and Lab assistants of district cadre posts under PM’s Package at Jammu at an earliest and at least one employee per family should be considered on Punjab pattern.
Alleging that the rigid policy with regard to bifurcation has made the displaced community to suffer severely, it demanded that the policy that was already in vogue be followed in this regard.
It said late and untimely supply of ration to migrant camps coupled with supply of sub standard ration is a big crisis and same should be stopped. Further the APL ration cards have already been issued to some migrant employees and pensioners but ration to them on landed cost is being denied.
It said erratic and insufficient supply of drinking water to the migrants camps be taken serious note of and ensure proper supply at an earliest to all the camps. Repairment and face lifting of quarters have suddenly been stopped reasons best known to the concerned authorities.

The delegation expressed concern that the 20 bed Hospital constructed at Jagti Township is nonfunctional till date. Further it was demanded the allotment of quarters be made at Purkhoo to left out migrants, grant of relief benefits to those genuine migrant families who were deprived of the same for one reason or other.
