AKHNOOR, Nov 21: Senior Congress leader and Minister for PHE, I&FC, Sham Lal Sharma has alleged that BJP and its leadership is disturbing the peaceful environment of Jammu & Kashmir.
Mr Sharma has warned BJP to desist from its divisive political gimmicks to divert aggrieved masses attention from the real issues. He alleged that BJP instead of seeking popular mandate, is indulging in cheap politics and has failed to offer any political substance to refer to the burning issues of State like, flood affected citizens, rehabilitation and to provide sigh of relief from Pakistan sponsored terrorist activities in the State.
Major issues such as their stand on demand for Regional Development Councils for three regions, special Political & Economic package for Jammu too have neglected. This has been evident from their double speaking on the abrogation of Article 370, which re-alive the undisputable issue unnecessarily to give election material to Separatists with whom BJP of late reached some kind of understanding to support them.
He also questioned their political ethics and asked BJP to clarify its stand that under what compulsion they were forced to hold the PoJK Refugees onetime settlement package duly recommended by elected State Government at the instance of previous UPA Government, which added unending plight and miseries of refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971 mostly from Jammu region.
He has warned the BJP Government in the Centre to approve the package without any further delay. Questioning the BJP’s stand on the issue, the Minister said that the party which always advocated for the cause of rehabilitation of the displaced persons and continue to corner the successive Governments in the State for ignoring the plight of these people has been exposed.
While addressing series of election meetings at Karangi, Godhan, Nardi Bala, Tacharwan, Sunail, Gadgal and Akhnoor City,Sham Lal claimed connectivity was major challenge. Through several road projects these areas were connected with highway.
