Trucker held with 180 bags cement

JAMMU, Oct 26: Pouni Chack police arrested a truck driver along with 180 bags of Government cement, which was meant for public works in Leh.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police party from Pouni Chack police post conducted a raid in Pouni Chack area and subjected a truck bearing registration number JK02AH-1369 to frisking.
During checking, police team recovered 180 bags of Government cement, which was meant for public works in Leh.
The truck driver instead of taking the Government cement to Leh after getting loaded from Pathankote diverted the vehicle to Pouni and was found transferring the Government cement into bags of different cement brands for distribution among the people for illegitimate gains.
The driver identified as Jagjeet Singh, son of Santokh Singh of Ajeet Colony Camp has been arrested and the truck along with Government cement seized.
A case under FIR number 401/14 under Section 406 and 109 RPC has been registered at Domana police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Pouni Chack police post SI Vikram Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Mohammad Qasim, SDPO Domana Sanjay Parihar and SP Rural ML Kaith.
