RAJOURI, June 6: As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Rajouri today seized three vehicles and challenged 16 for various violations on Rajouri-Poonch highway.
During the drive, the enforcement team led by ARTO, Ashiq Rafiq Malik inspected 96 vehicles and detected several violations of the Motor Vehicles Act. A total of 16 challans were issued, while 3 vehicles were seized for grave violations. The challans are expected to generate a penalty amounting to the tune of Rs 74,100.
The violations included driving without a valid licence, overloading, operation of vehicles without Speed Limiting Devices (SLDs), unauthorized modifications, riding without helmets, non-compliance with prescribed uniform norms, rash and negligent driving etc.
