RAMBAN, May 31: Two persons were injured here today in two different road accidents.
As per Police, a trailer truck hit a dumper from behind at Railway Chowk in Banihal. Impact of the collision was severe and it left the trailer truck driver trapped inside the mingled cabin.
Soon after the accident, cops, traffic cops, Army troops, and locals launched a rescue operation and heavy machinery was also pressed into service to rescue the driver from the damaged vehicle.
The injured driver was subsequently shifted to Sub-District Hospital Banihal where his condition was stated to be stable.
In another accident late last night, a truck bearing registration number JK19-8189, carrying cement, skidded off the road and plunged into several hundred feet deep gorge near Battery Chasma area of Ramban.
Driver of the vehicle was identified as Auqib Shah, son of Altaf Hussain Shah, resident of Seri, Ramban and he was injured in the accident.
He was rescued and rushed to District Hospital Ramban for treatment.
Police has taken cognisance of both the cases and started investigations.
