RAJOURI, May 31: A youth was injured in a road accident near Alfa Gate of the local Army unit in Rajouri on Sunday.
The incident took place when a Tempo travelling from Rajouri towards Jammu hit a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The motorcyclist, identified as Hitesh Kumar (18), son of Sunil Kumar, a resident of Rajouri town, sustained injuries in the mishap and was immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for treatment.
According to Medical Superintendent, GMC Rajouri, Dr. Shamim Choudhary, the injured youth was provided necessary treatment at GMC and subsequently referred to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident. The vehicle involved in the accident has been seized, and further legal proceedings are underway.
