JAMMU, May 27: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and district president of the Urban OBC Cell, Amit Dogra today expressed serious concern over the delay in drainage repair work in Ward No. 34 of Old Janipur.
Dogra recently met officials of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), including DDP Karan Singh and Works Commissioner Firdous Qazi, to highlight the deteriorating condition of open and blocked drains in the area.
The affected stretch runs from Sunny Chicken corner to the Petrol Pump on High Court (Judiciary) Road.
Despite assurances given by JMC officials, no visible progress has been made. The delay has caused significant inconvenience to local shopkeepers, street vendors and residents, especially with the rainy season approaching.
Dogra pointed out that an official communication regarding the project had already been sent to the JMC department on April 2, but no action has been initiated so far.
He warned that if the work does not commence immediately, residents may be forced to stage protests and seek legal remedies.
Balwant Raj, Sanjay Panday, Rahul Raj and Sanjay Kumar, were also present during the meeting.
